Securely destroy confidential documents by soaking in a bucket of water with black skin safe, thick, art paint, out of reach from kids in locked room with plastic tray under the bucket to reduce risk of staining wooden floor. Full, Drain water, wear gloves to break up paper mush and dispose. Takes less than 10 mins.

The issue with having a stone-faced security guard at the store entrance or exit destroys the impact of the cheerful, friendly greeter and sales staff which adversely affects the mood of the customer and most importantly reduce the sale profits. Thus you should fire all security guards or bag checkers that don't smile and replace with bag checkers that wear suits and SMILE.

Why can’t all libraries worldwide be open for 16 hours / 7 days a week since security can monitor via CCTV via a network of schools in a centralized office 24/7?

Why not collaborate with other companies and schools in the suburban within 20 mins drive radius for security crew where the network of schools/uni/companies utilize mobile CCTV vans that drive fast like Singapore? This will eliminate 50% of the existing security force due to nonintegrated company structure and convert that labour cost savings into management $$$$. Front with the politically correct reason that the labour will be redirected to more suitable roles in the company.

Voiceprint recognition systems >> Voiceprint recognition has moved out of the sci-fi movie realm and into commercial reality, with some banks and credit unions using voiceprints to improve customer service. Since a voiceprint is a unique way to identify a customer, voiceprints can avoid answering security questions or remembering passcodes.
But that introduces a new creepy concern: criminals cloning your voice. It’s not a 10-year-from-now proposition. AI startup Lyrebird has already demonstrated the ability to convincingly clone voices.
Futurist Laura Mingail is concerned about the risk that thanks to artificial intelligence, voice cloning can be done by secretly recording a short sample of your voice.
“If your credit card is stolen, that theft is easy to identify,”  Mingail told Business Insider. “But if your voice is stolen and used, you can’t yet track its usage, or all the implications of its theft – whether it’s used to access personal banking information, to speak with family members, employers, or even the press. The abilities of AI to do voice cloning in mere minutes gives an entirely new meaning to losing your voice.”

De-pixelating pixelated images >> We’re used to seeing pixelation used to mask faces, licence plates, and secure undisclosed locations, so much so that we intuitively know that a pixelated image is intended to protect someone or something’s identity. Pixelation works for the very reason that the “sharpen and enhance” trope on television doesn’t – if something is pixelated, there isn’t enough information to refine it into a sharp, identifiable image.
At least, that used to be true. But in 2016, researchers at the University of Texas at Austin and Cornell Tech created software that can “see-through” intentionally pixelated images to understand what’s behind the masking. It uses neural networks, naturally – in other words, artificial intelligence – and has had great success defeating YouTube’s privacy blur tool.
“This means that the most vulnerable people whose faces must be protected from publicity can’t, in fact, be protected at all, Kovarik told Business Insider.

If you’ve seen the “Black Mirror” episode “Nosedive,” you’re familiar with the idea of using social media reputation as a sort of social currency for keeping a job, getting an apartment, and using other everyday services. What you might not realise is that China is actually implementing that very thing in real life. “It’s arguably the largest social engineering experiment in human history, enabled by artificial intelligence, especially face recognition, and big data analytics,” Lukas Kovarik, CEO of Bohemian AI, told Business Insider. “You can lose your credit for criticising the communist party as well as for not having your dog on a leash. Low-scoring citizens are banned from travelling, work, or private schools. Your mugshot can even be shown in movie theatres before the movie.”

Smart speakers >> What could be less intimidating than a smart speaker? Products like Amazon Echo (powered by the Alexa personal assistant) and Google Home are popular household companions that respond to voice commands. But many experts are wary, citing the creepy behaviour lurking just around the corner – like cases in which Amazon has already mishandled sensitive private recordings.
“I’m sceptical that these devices are not listening to our conversations,” Heather Vescent, a futurist at The Purple Tornado, said, citing reports of Amazon employees explicitly playing back Alexa recordings.  Consider that when you place Alexa in your bedroom.

Deepfakes – a notorious technology that uses artificial intelligence and deep learning to seamlessly replace faces in a video – might have some superficially beneficial applications. But on the whole, it’s not just creepy, but existentially terrifying. Imagine being able to swap one person’s face onto another person’s body in full, high-resolution video.
There are already deepfake video editors available, and they’re no more complicated than traditional video editing software. It’s already been used for revenge porn and political propaganda. What happens when it’s impossible to tell legitimate video from video manipulated using deepfake technology? Aaron Lawson, a scientist at SRI International’s Speech Technology and Research Laboratory, said this may lead to political instability and chaos as people lose faith in media. “It’s going to lead to confusion about basic reality and encourage a sense that truth is just your opinion, based on the assumption that everything has been faked,” Lawson said.

Self-driving cars
We were promised flying cars, but it looks increasingly what we’re really getting is self-driving cars. Already, some vehicles on the road have autopilot or drive-assist modes that can handle everyday driving situations. Can they drive more safely on average than humans? Arguably, yes – especially over time, as carmakers learn from past mistakes and vast volumes of real-world driving data.
But what you might not think about is that self-driving cars will, by their very role of “taking the wheel,” eventually have to make life and death decisions. What happens when your vehicle is faced with a real-world Trolley Problem, in which the only available options are to run into either this person or that person? Will the car prioritise the driver’s life or the life of a pedestrian? These are decisions humans have never left to machines in the past.
“There will certainly be unintended consequences we have not thought through,” Vescent said.

3D body scanning
As a society, we’re slowly acclimating to the use of 3D body scanners, especially at airport security. But retailers are tentatively experimenting with body scanners as well. Amazon, for example, is experimenting with it as a revolutionary way to custom fit apparel you buy online.
In an age when social media companies are accused of violating customers’ privacy, and banks are not immune from cyberattacks, it’s no surprise that futurists like Harsha Reddy worry about ways your exact body specifications can be misused online.
“If your personal data is available online, including a scan of your body, this can be a whole other level of creepiness,” Reddy said.

Smart baby monitors
Smart baby monitors are a part of the emerging Internet of Things, and they’re welcomed by many parents because they allow you to see, hear, and talk to your baby from anywhere in the house.
But “smart” sometimes seem synonymous with “hackable,” and we’ve already seen hackers gain access to smart monitors, like one especially creepy case in which a stranger threatened to kidnap a family’s baby. And it can get worse.
“Someone speaking to your child and asking them to open a door or a window or go to a particular place is probably the worst that could happen with this type of technology,” said Donata Kalnenaite, futurist and president of Termageddon.

Re-identifying anonymous people
Evidence is building that anonymization – the act of stripping identifying information from private data to make subjects in tests and studies anonymous – simply doesn’t work. Researchers in the UK and Belgium have recently published a study in which they showed how easy it is to re-identify a specific person from a dataset that has been used for research. They were able to correctly re-identify 99.98% of users from a given dataset, even when the dataset was incomplete.
That might sound somewhat academic and perhaps irrelevant to your life, but Ilia Sotnikov, a cybersecurity expert at Netwrix, says it has far-reaching, creepy implications.
“Even heavily sampled anonymized datasets can’t satisfy modern privacy standards, whether it’s captured for medical research or Siri voice assistance,” Sotnikov told Business Insider.
Privacy might be dead.

Changi Airport Security Checking Machines
Why not Changi airport install eye-level sign before the door of check-in security checking machines & early middle part of the queue to early alert passengers to take the laptop out. The sign behind the checking machine notifies passengers too late.

Why not hang an art portrait of Jesus behind the cashier at eye level and place a Christian cross stand at the cashier to reduce robbery? Why not also add a security sign (Store linked to Police) next to Jesus?

Security. Why not put a sign in front of the store, we have less than $100 in the till at all times to significantly reduce theft.

THEFT BETWEEN EMPLOYEES & VOLUNTEERS IN STAFF LOCKERS

Why not "security camera 24/7 - smiley" yellow sign on staff locker door? OR Please do not put valuables in the locker laminated DIY printed sign?

I like the Security Cam yellow sign at Oakleigh Store, I wonder if there are any Security Case 24/7 yellow signs at donation cages and back doors in all stores internationally?

Add laminated sign on the back door of the store facing out "Shop linked to Police" even though no security cam, but we have duress alarm, so it's not illegal or lying. Optional add same sign to employee locker door to reduce the risk of theft.

The antique shop put “Beautiful & Expensive” Items in Cabinet in front of the shop window. Why don’t we put a locked cabinet of beautiful and expensive items near the store window to attract customers in? Though we need security signs at eye level next to the door and very very strong store window glass.

Why not make a laptop with fish eye-full 180 degrees webcam lens with each phone/laptop unlock, secret security app start take video until part of the human head comes into front camera view, then keep taking video until full-face or an eye comes into view. Auto upload video to the cloud. Using similar to google photos people recognition software, when app sees that the face in the picture doesn't belong to you, it will send an email to your secret email account with the photos and give your phone a missed call the next day with a phone no. That only you recognise that it belongs to that security app that generates random phone no. Separately, why not upgrade laptop webcam to smartphone 4K quality with always-on webcam paired to another security app. Webcam AI sees that there isn't any part of a human face or body (not necessarily the owner), it will auto-lock the laptop immediately. Separately, Webcam app AI based on preset settings toggle, when webcam sees you or "you & other humans", laptop stays unlock, when webcam doesn't see you, the laptop will auto-lock.

Security App >> Imagine an android phone app that auto turn phone into airplane mode when screen lock and app auto turn off airplane mode to connect to the internet when screen unlocks. Toggle various scenarios in settings.

Separately, I really like the functionality for VoodooShield security - u might want to share that with your management and product development team https://voodooshield.com/.

Supermarket sign stands at a self-service checkout. The sign says "Pls queue here. Security cameras operate here."

The customer loses phone sim card when travelling overseas led to exorbitant charges due to misuse of phone number by criminals. Why not make future Optus / other telecoms website update so the user can log into Optus account website to temporarily lock sim card & block phone no. Even when overseas?
Cause calling from overseas is expensive and customer service waiting time is extended, verbally giving out personal details to authenticate self over the phone is a security risk as people or criminals can overhear and many other cons. This will reduce the cost of customer service labour cost too.

Can you still find security in a job? No. But you can find security in your own knowledge.

Fire exit stairwells are a breeding spot for crime. Add a sign in the stairwell on every level. Warning: "You may be monitored on security camera 24/7”

Need Live Video Security 24/7 Signs at Huntingdale Train Station entrance intersection and platforms.

Need Video Security 24/7 Yellow Signs around the school with high levels of bullying to reduce bullying and increase school funding. After all, school kids walk around the shops and malls that have these signs. On the other hand, without sufficient bullying, there won’t be hardened soldiers protecting our interests.

Build more parking space, but the land is expensive, thus build multi-storey parking, but it is a good spot for crime. Thus learn from multi-storey parking from Chadstone mall. Incorporate sufficient conspicuous video security 24/7 signages and cameras + pay the gang bosses.

Cross-reference handphone signals in area x with security camera facial recognition to detect people without mobile phone signals at that location as people of interests or criminals to be investigated.

Pakenham Line (not sure about other train lines in Australia and worldwide) Train's security camera sign should be yellow, not blue. Info sign = blue. Safety signs should be yellow or red but no two yellow or two red signs next to each other (too boring for the busy people).

I refer to your pressure mounted gate: CHELSEA XTRA-TALL AUTO-CLOSE SECURITY GATE - WHITE. I installed it at the foot of the staircase to prevent my baby from climbing the stairs that could lead to a fall injury. However, my family members often forget or are lazy to close the gate after opening it at 90 degrees lock angle. This poses a high safety risk for my toddler.

Make store, business, office, home's security signs with blue-white box design like police tape.

SECURITY
Problem: Metal print of Singapore Trains cabin and door number signs are tiny and hard to see.
Singapore Trains could learn from Melbourne, Australia Trains that have conspicuous carriage & door no. Signs in big text font size & bright colours for easy fault reporting and for security/emergency services to quickly identify the location of criminals on the train plus if you & your loved ones are old and have a heart attack, the ambulance people will be able to locate you quickly on the train to save your life.

Some of the security staff and criminals are orphans. :~( If a parent at the mall reports her child missing, why not train all mall's staff including security staff up to the cleaner to use their phone to take a photo of the missing child shown from the mom’s phone and send to the mall’s messaging group chat, radio security, mall management, other in-store management so all staff in the mall, not just the security personnel and keep an eye out and look for the child. I know the business as usual, and time is money is essential. What about the millions of dollars worth of publicity if you implement the above method and can locate the lost child? How about turning the mom and her circle of influence into forever big spender customers for the mall? What if the mom is a billionaire or millionaire that donates a hefty sum of money to management and you when her child is found? After the photo is circulated, then u can implement the usual 5K HD zoom in out security cameras, security and staff at each mall exits, etc.
If a parent at the mall reports her child missing to any mall’s staff, why don’t train all mall's staff up to the cleaner to use their phone to take a photo of the missing child displayed from the gallery app on the mom’s phone and send to the mall’s messaging group chat, radio security, mall's management, other instore management so all staff in the mall, not just the security personnel can keep an eye out and look for the child? After the photo is circulated, to implement the usual 5K HD zoom in/out security cameras, security staff at each mall exits, etc.?

Facebook is 15 years old. Before you enter into a relationship with anyone looks at his first year FB timeline and find his most former friends in person and talk to a few of them.

Received a call from a "Blocked" / private number
Caller states that he is from the Bank - Fraud department and would like to speak to me regarding the account security issue. He mentioned that before he could proceed further, he needs to verify my personal and account details for identification purposes.
As I suspect that this could be a Scam call, and there is no way I would know he is really from Bank. I asked the caller to send me a formal letter, and I closed the call.
Shortly, I received an SMS with SMS titled Bank XYZ asking me to call a telephone number regarding account security matter.
Thinking that something could be severe, I called Bank's hotline and was transferred to the Credit Card Department. Staff - Naz answered my call, and after checking with her, she told me that Bank did not call me or SMS me regarding anything at all today, let alone account security matter.
Sensing something amiss, I went to Bukit Merah East Police Station at Outram Park and spent 1 hour to lodge a report.
The policeman called the number indicated on the SMS, and a guy named Azan answered the call. Azan says he is from the Fraud department with Bank. The policeman closed the call and advised me to check with the bank again.
I called Bank hotline and was transferred to the Credit Card Department. I check with the staff on 4 June 2013 - Solmanz (i think) on the number indicated on the SMS I received. He says that the number does not belong to the bank. I asked Solmanz to call the Fraud department and verified if there is really an account security matter. Solmanz verified on this and apologised to me that Fraud Department had sent that SMS and the number on the SMS belonged to Fraud Department. Solmanz explained that a replacement card would be sent to me, and there would not be any financial losses.
What can we learn from this?
How do you know the "Blocked" number is from the bank?
Using current calling procedure by the Bank staff; if I am a scammer, I can call customers to solicit for the personal information (explaining to customers that it is alright to release personal details over the phone as this is the Bank and other companies usual practice) to cause financial damage or losses to the customers. I need not benefit from using the customer's information. Using a payphone, I can use personal information to close the customer's credit card or other accounts or other activities to create inconvenience to the customer. This would make tracing back to the scammer difficult.
This scamming activity would definitely affect the customer's confidence with the Bank whether their money is secured safely.
The scammer may be paid by competing banks to cause the Bank's customer displeasure with the bank. Further reputation damage to the Bank could be spread through word of mouth, online or through media.
Customers being used to give out their personal information over the phone to the Bank / Impersonator may engage in lawsuits with the Bank. There is also the risk of loss of customers due to this.
Defensively speaking, there is partial verification, where the Bank's staff will release the first part of, e.g. NRIC for the customer to complete the second part of the NRIC for identification purpose. Through my interaction with XYZ Bank's Staff over the years, there was no such procedure in place.
I would recommend the Bank to send an SMS with SMS title as Bank XYZ notifying customer to call the hotline or department number immediately in the event of security issues. That way, the customer would know that the number is the Bank's secured number when they call back.
Revamping the Bank's current calling procedure not only reduces reputation and financial risks. It saves manpower and telephone costs by eliminating the unnecessary step of calling the customer to be rejected by the customer for security risks AND sending Bank's SMS for the customer to call back. In terms of customer service experience, how would you feel if you are in my shoes?
For customers who are worried about calling charges, XYZ Bank's might like to include a toll-free number, e.g. 1800 (in front of the number for the customer to call back to the bank) in the SMS?
Could XYZ Bank highlight this risk to other departments, XYZ Bank's Partners and XYZ Bank's subsidiaries?

Commando Security Guards Patrol This Mall

Problem: Confusion. Entrance Security Guard at National Gallery of Victoria is sometimes occupied with other guests resulting in people walking in with bags which they are not aware of check-in at the counter.

Problem: National Gallery of Victoria have durable not too bouncy wide floor mats for the security guards to stand on for an extended time. The local management of NGV has approved this.

How to Protect Yourself from Scam. Scammers get creative and invent new tricks basically every day to steal your money and personal data. The best way to protect yourself, your family and your money is to be aware of their latest tricks. Remember that forewarned is forearmed, and it's always better to be prepared and ready to face the dangers that may wait for you in the street or online.

Sit or stand directly below the CCTV camera or yellow security camera sign when you are in public, on the train at night or standing at the train platform.

Missing sign at the entrance at eye level led to taking up too much unnecessary security guards attention to look out for bags and talk to customers to check in their bags where the guards should focus their limited attention on suspicious characters.

Solution? Why not implement an eye-level sign at the entrance to advise the customer to deposit their bags at the counter since a significant number of visitors are tourists and to reduce security guards load so it can be forcefully redirected to high-value tasks.

SECURITY: Since the left and right mice buttons are the biggest. Thus, it should not only be used for the most frequently used system commands but also for the most important. Why not use the smaller mice middle button for right-click pop up menu, and use the more prominent right mice button for essential functions, e.g. show desktop command to quickly hide sensitive websites or click the right mice button to promptly lock the laptop for business CEO, NASA, military or government laptops? The reasoning is in an emergency to lock the computer or hide the browser, the bigger the button, the higher the accuracy and quicker to press.
