Pop-ups start appearing.
Do check your browser’s visited website history.
Websites appear different than before.
Without your permission:
- Increased use of data or text messaging.
- New browser add-ons appear.
- Browser’s home page has changed.
System and Apps
Task manager does not run.
Files are missing or its contents have changed.
Some programs or apps stop working correctly.
Security programs have turned off.
New software installed, but you did not install it.
Unknown programs request administrative access.
Phone
Phone bill shows unexpected charges.
Your personal email blocked by spam filters.
Word of caution
People online often provide bad advice intentionally or unwittingly.
Cybercriminals often use rogue websites to provide fake cybersecurity advice so that you will install their dodgy security apps that instead plant malware on your devices to empty your bank accounts / gather secret information about you to blackmail you / turn you into drug mule / force you into a saboteur to financially damage your company in secret / plethora of infinite creative criminal purposes.
